Farmers of assigned patta land were initially paid `8 lakh per acre, while those in occupation of government land received `7.7 lakh per acre. More than 1,100 patta farmers from the four villages had surrendered their land holding. Certificates were issued to 5,720 assigned and patta farmers and plots were registered according to allotted numbers. Subsequently, the government identified more than 250 suspected fake beneficiaries among those claiming assigned land. The state government ordered an inquiry, while village leaders submitted lists of suspected beneficiaries to Ibrahimpatnam MLA Malreddy Ranga Reddy and collector C. Narayana Reddy.
