Three burglars were arrested by Sathuvachari police for stealing 45 sovereigns of gold jewellery, silver objects and ₹1.6 lakh cash from the house of a government doctor on Sunday. Initial inquiry revealed that the trio was acquainted with each other when they were in prison on theft charges. In the night, the gang stole valuables in identified houses. On her return, she found valuables and cash missing. The gang was lodged at Central Prison in Vellore.
