MANILA, Philippines — Nine in every 10 Filipinos who have access to the internet use Facebook as their source of news, according to Pulse Asia’s latest survey on internet and social media use in the Philippines. Although slightly down from 94 percent in March, the latest poll found that 91 percent said they use Facebook as a news source. The survey found that almost all Filipino internet users – 99 percent – have Facebook accounts, while 73 percent said they have YouTube (up from 70 percent). Ninety-one percent said they use the internet to read, watch or listen to other things of interest, like movies, recipes and celebrity news.
