The Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] has accused the local police in Beypore in Kozhikode district of removing flex boards highlighting the alleged theft at the Ayodhya Ram temple. By removing them, the police under the United Democratic Front government had shown its subservience to the Sangh Parivar, she alleged. Ms. Gopi claimed that the boards were meant to highlight the alleged financial irregularities related to the temple. She alleged that the news media in the country had been publishing reports about the alleged theft “supervised by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.” The police should clarify if its action was based on the directions from the higher authorities, Ms. Gopi added.
