Six people from Gujarat were killed and one injured in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district on Sunday (August 9, 2026) after a speeding container truck collided with a van they were travelling in, the police said. The deceased have been identified as Nitesh Bhai, Mayur Kumar Chauhan, Vishal Kumar, and Rakesh Bhai, all residents of Godhra, Gujarat. The truck driver has been found to be under the influence of alcohol and was driving on the wrong side, he added. “Prima facie, the truck driver was found intoxicated. The family from Gujarat was returning after visiting the Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain, the official said.
