The Bihar Cabinet on Wednesday (August 5, 2026) gave its nod to run 16 Medical Colleges & Hospitals under Private Public Partnership (PPP) model in order to expand quality healthcare services in the State. It also decided to issue an LOA (Letter of Agreement) to PwC, besides sanctioning₹8.27 crore for the purpose. This initiative will further strengthen modern healthcare facilities in the State and provide better medical education and healthcare services in the state, he added. Out of 16 medical colleges and hospitals which will be run on a PPP model, four medical colleges and hospitals at Pawapuri, Rahui (both in Nalanda district), Madhepura and Purnea are currently operational, while 12 medical colleges are under construction. The 12 under-construction colleges are at — Samastipur, Saran, Madhubani, Vaishali, Bhojpur, Buxar, Siwan, Begusarai, Sitamarhi, Jamui, Munger and Supaul.
