Iran’s Revolutionary Guard said on Saturday (August 8, 2026) that re-opening the Strait of Hormuz is not related to Iran-Oman negotiations but conditional on the U.S. accepting Iran’s conditions.
official on Friday (August 7, 2026) reported progress between Iran and Oman that could soon reopen the Strait of Hormuz, potentially restoring oil exports that have been disrupted by the five-month-old U.S. war with Iran.
The attacks were in response to the Houthis’ recent strikes in central and eastern Yemen.
Col. Majed al-Nazili, spokesperson for Yemen’s military, said the attacks targeted the rebels’ “sites and capabilities” on multiple front lines, without elaborating further.
