The latest adjustment will take the average fuel cost impact in August to around 41 paisa per unit higher than July, when consumers were charged an FCA of Rs0.34 per unit. The increase will apply to consumers of both K-E and the Discos carved out of the former Wapda system. The adjustment will apply to all relevant consumer categories, including those covered by the incremental consumption package, while lifeline consumers, electric vehicle charging stations and prepaid electricity consumers will remain exempt. Discos and K-E have been directed to reflect the June FCA in consumers' bills during the August billing cycle. Fuel cost adjustments are reviewed every month under the tariff regime applicable across the country and are generally passed on to consumers for one billing month.
