Following this incident, India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on Friday that the Indian government had no role in organizing the event. Dhaka conveyed its dissatisfaction in strong terms regarding how Sheikh Hasina, who is facing allegations of genocide, was given the opportunity to speak publicly. He further informed that despite political tensions and diplomatic differences, cooperation between India and Bangladesh in economic and energy sectors continues.
