Frequent power outages and delays in rectifying electrical faults, particularly at night, have become a major cause of inconvenience for residents in several parts of Tiruchi. Consumers have expressed concern over prolonged power outages, alleging that frequent faults in distribution lines and transformers often remain unattended for hours, particularly at night, disrupting life and causing hardship. In one such incident, a fault developed in the power supply line feeding an electrical substation at Edamalaipatti Pudur, disrupting electricity supply to the area from 2.50 a.m. on Friday. Repair work began at 6 a.m., and after nearly three hours of restoration work, normal power supply was restored by 9 a.m. Residents said repeated power outages and delays in fault rectification have become a recurring issue.
