An additional ₹3.6 crore has been earmarked for concrete road works at the under-construction second terminal of the Ukkadam bus terminus in Coimbatore, taking the project cost beyond the original estimate.
The Coimbatore Corporation had awarded the project for the twin bus terminus at Ukkadam at an estimated cost of ₹21.55 crore.
The civic body has floated separate tenders worth about ₹3.6 crore for additional concrete road works.
The officials said the additional works were necessitated by the increase in construction material costs and site-specific engineering requirements.
The officials said the tender process for the additional road works is under way and the works are expected to be completed within two months.
