The special discount sale of handloom products, including silk sarees, was conducted at the District Collectorate on Friday in view of the National Handloom Day. Inaugurating the sale, District Collector Anand Mohan honoured the handloom weavers and disbursed welfare assistance to them. Since more than 70% of the handloom weavers were rural women, the industry was guaranteeing financial independence to them. Hence, the consumers should support them by buying the handloom products, mostly done in rural areas. As part of this celebration, 30% discount is being given for all handloom products being sold in the Co-Optex showrooms and other shops.
