UNSC condemns 'heinous' Swat suicide blast

The statement came days after a suicide bomber struck outside Kabal Police Station in Swat on August 3, killing 17 people, including several police officers, and injuring 27 others.
In a press statement, the Council said it condemned "in the strongest terms, the heinous and cowardly suicide terrorist attack outside a police station in Kabal, Swat District, K-P Province, Pakistan, on August 2 2026."

The DG ISPR said 3,145 terrorist incidents had been recorded during the period, while security forces had killed 2,084 terrorists, averaging about 10 terrorists killed every day.
He further said there had been 28 suicide bombing incidents this year, adding that the majority of the suicide bombers were Afghan nationals.
