MANILA, Philippines (Updated 12:25 p.m.) — A magnitude 5.4 earthquake struck off Occidental Mindoro on Friday morning, with Intensity 5 shaking recorded in parts of Mindoro and tremors reaching Metro Manila and nearby provinces. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology located the tectonic earthquake 13 kilometers southwest of Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro. Intensity 5 was reported in Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro, as well as Calapan City, Naujan, Puerto Galera, San Teodoro and Victoria in Oriental Mindoro. Instrumental Intensity 3 was recorded in Quezon City, Batangas City, Calapan City and Victoria.
