Photos: ExpressA young woman was killed and 11 others, including seven women and children, were injured after a speeding car rammed into a Suzuki pickup near the toll plaza on Shahrah-e-Bhutto in Karachi's Korangi, causing the vehicle to overturn on Wednesday.
According to police and rescue officials, the pickup was travelling from Qayyumabad to Quaidabad when it was struck from behind by a speeding SUV near the toll plaza.
The identity of another woman, believed to be around 50 years old and critically injured, could not immediately be established.
Earlier in May, Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari inaugurated the 39-kilometre signal-free corridor linking Qayyumabad with the M-9 Motorway and laid the foundation stone for the Qayyumabad Corridor project connecting Karachi Port.
