Congress MLA Yashavantarayagoud V Patil announced in Indi on Wednesday (August 5, 2026) that he had decided to withdraw his resignation to the post of MLA, following advice of his followers. He had tendered his resignation after saying that he was upset at not being made a minister. He said he would write a letter to the Assembly secretary saying he would withdraw it. They forget that no MLA from Indi has become a minister since Independence. I will not continue as an MLA for any reason," he had said.
