Tulu Wikipedia, the free online encyclopedia in the Tulu language, will celebrate its 10th anniversary on August 6, 2026, Thursday, marking a significant milestone in the digital preservation and promotion of the Tulu language and culture. The Tulu Wikipedia officially went live on August 6, 2016, after spending eight years in incubation. The project is supported by a vibrant community of around 25 active contributors, who continue to enrich the encyclopedia with reliable and freely accessible knowledge. To commemorate this landmark occasion, the Karavali Wikimedians User Group, promoter of the Tulu Wikipedia, has planned anniversary celebrations on September 12 and September 13, 2026 in Mangaluru. The anniversary celebrations are expected to inspire more people to contribute, collaborate, and support the continued growth of the free knowledge movement in the Tulu language, it said.
