The District Science Centre, Kalaburagi, will observe Hiroshima and Nagasaki Day on August 6 and 7 by organising a series of educational programmes for school and college students to create awareness about the devastating human and environmental consequences of the atomic bombings. According to a press release issued by the District Science Officer, a documentary screening on the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and an exhibition of a nuclear reactor model will be held at 11 a.m. on August 6. On August 7, an interactive science awareness lecture will be delivered by Mr. Balaji Biradar, assistant professor, Department of Physics, S.B. Science College, Kalaburagi, at 11 a.m. An open-house science quiz on the theme ‘Energy’ will also be organised.
