Khader on Wednesday instructed officials that the relief amount should be sanctioned immediately to the victims of natural disasters including landslides and rain damage. He spoke at a meeting held at the Taluk Panchayat Hall in Belthangady after visiting various rain-damaged areas in Belthangady taluk. Emergency relief should also be sanctioned to the victims of cases where water entered their houses. The highway work is ongoing from Poonjalakatte to Charmadi in Belthangady taluk, and there have been widespread complaints from the public about flooding in places. The Public Works Department officials told the meeting that ₹12 crore has been approved for the development of Guruvayankare-Uppinangady Road and the work would start soon.
