A leopard killed 10 goats kept in a livestock shed in the Sathyamangalam Forest Range here in the early hours of Wednesday (August 5, 2026). According to the Forest Department, the attack occurred around 1 a.m. on a farm owned by Muthayee of K.N. Palayam forest beat. Officials found leopard pugmarks near the shed and evidence that one of the goats had been dragged into the adjoining forest and partially consumed by the animal. A veterinary examination of the carcasses was conducted by the Forest Department’s Assistant Veterinary Officer.
