The Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) is set to undertake a comprehensive energy audit of its major establishments and civic infrastructure as part of efforts to improve energy efficiency, reduce consumption and work towards carbon neutrality. The board, which functions under the Ministry of Defence, has invited Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from qualified agencies to conduct the audit and recommend measures for energy conservation, integration of renewable energy and overall optimisation of energy use across the Cantonment. The audit is also expected to establish benchmarks that can subsequently be used for monitoring, verification and assessment of energy performance. Standard energy audit instruments will be used for recording data. The exercise will also examine the potential for expanding renewable energy use in the cantonment.
