When pointed to The Athletic‘s report, the spokesperson replied that the legacy payouts were “specific to FIFA World Cup host cities in the United States that also hosted FIFA Club World Cup matches.
The committee was also asked if FIFA offered or promised legacy contributions for hosting World Cup matches in Vancouver.
