The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has cautioned Governor Ademola Adeleke to stop attributing his political challenges to President Bola Tinubu and former governor Adegboyega Oyetola. In a statement issued in Osogbo on Tuesday by its spokesperson, Kola Olabisi, the party criticized Adeleke’s remarks at a campaign rally held the previous day. At the rally, Adeleke alleged that Tinubu and Oyetola were behind his political misfortunes ahead of the forthcoming governorship election.Olabisi noted that Adeleke also accused the police of compromising against his administration, while insisting he remained the Chief Security Officer of the state. The APC dismissed Adeleke’s claims as baseless, accusing him instead of sponsoring political violence. “The governor resorts to dancing when intellect is required. His allegations against President Tinubu and Oyetola are frivolous and a cover for his imminent defeat,” Olabisi said.He further questioned Adeleke’s decision to grant amnesty to convicted political thugs and appoint individuals with violent records into government positions. According to Olabisi, Adeleke’s complaints of persecution lack evidence and reflect his inability to handle competition. The party reminded Adeleke that endorsing Tinubu as his preferred presidential candidate for 2027 was his personal choice and not a justification for avoiding a fair contest in the upcoming Osun governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026.“No one disputes that Adeleke is the constitutional Chief Security Officer of the state. The real issue is why the same governor has been the architect of repeated security breaches in Osun,” Olabisi added.
