Tamil Nadu asks SC to direct Karnataka to release its share of Cauvery water

An official release said that Karnataka has “failed” to give Tamil Nadu its due share of water, PTI reported.
He appealed to Kannada organisations to call off their proposed state-wide strike on August 13 opposing the release of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu.
A water measuring station, set up by the Central Water Commission at Biligundlu in the Krishnagiri district is used to measure Cauvery water flows.

The tribunal allocated 419 thousand million cubic feet of water per year to Tamil Nadu and 270 thousand million cubic feet of water to Karnataka.
