Mr. Udhayanidhi was taken to Thanjavur by road and questioned for nearly 90 minutes at the Sengipatti police station before being released on station bail as per a Madras High Court direction at night. Denying the charges levelled against him, Mr. Udhayanidhi said he did not intend to hurt anyone, especially women, and he did not engage in double entendre as alleged by some.
