MANILA, Philippines — The National Bureau of Investigation has identified persons of interest in the alleged online death threats against President Marcos, NBI Director Melvin Matibag reported yesterday. The development came as the bureau investigated a wave of online death threats against Sen. Risa Hontiveros following the July 17 killing of vlogger Alicia Lipata, popularly known as Mima Alicia, at her residence in Caloocan. He said the bureau had uncovered numerous online threats targeting Marcos while investigating the alleged threats against Hontiveros. The NBI has been investigating alleged death threats against Marcos since Vice President Sara Duterte’s online press briefing in November 2024.
