In a social media post on Tuesday, August 4, Lacson said his case study on Taguig had expanded into a "cauldron of worms" following a crucial meeting with Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA) officials. On July 28, Lacson said he submitted the documentary and testimonial evidence from his investigation into alleged anomalies in Taguig infrastructure projects to the Office of the Ombudsman. According to Lacson, his office estimated that Taguig accumulated around P14.4 billion worth of infrastructure projects from 2020 to 2025. The probe into infrastructure projects in Taguig, the political stronghold of Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano, was launched after Cayetano questioned Lacson's integrity.
