A 46-year-old man was arrested for allegedly luring a 38-year-old woman with the promise of an acting opportunity, sexually exploiting her and later threatening her with a video to extort ₹2 lakh and around 91 grams of gold jewellery in Vadapalani. The accused, Sheikh Muthalif of Adambakkam, runs a private company and allegedly came in contact with the woman in 2025. Police said Muthalif subsequently took her to another location, where he allegedly sexually exploited her. He later threatened her by claiming that he had recorded a video of the incident and demanded money and jewellery. The woman allegedly handed over ₹2 lakh in cash and around 91 grams of gold jewellery to him.
