Men briefly detained in Guthrie case seek over $3M in damages

(NewsNation) — Two Arizona men detained during the search for Nancy Guthrie have issued a notice of claim against the Pima County sheriff and a detective.
Lawyers filed the notice of claim for Carlos Palazuelos and Daniel Maddox, alleging wrongful arrest and property damage.
They are seeking $2.5 million in damages to Palazuelos, while offering to settle at $500,000 for Maddox and $250,000 for his mother, also named in the claim.
The Pima County Sheriff's Office and the FBI released several surveillance photos, including the one seen here, related to the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie on Feb. 10, 2026.
