The Supreme Court on Friday stayed the arrest of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam MLA V Senthil Balaji in a corruption case linked to the Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation, or Tasmac, subject to his cooperation with the investigation, Live Law reported. The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam formed the government in Tamil Nadu in May following the state Assembly elections. The case relates to alleged irregularities in liquor procurement, transport contracts, bar licences and other administrative decisions during this period, Bar and Bench reported.
