The Home Department of the Delhi government on Thursday (July 30, 2026) issued an order that no adverse legal action will be taken against people involved in the protests against the NEET-UG paper leak issue. The CJP had said that the government’s agreement was to withdraw cases against “all protesters” and not take any action against them in the future in relation to the protests. The other two demands were withdrawal of cases against all protesters and no future action against them, as well as compensation to families whose children died by suicide due to the NEET paper leak. On Monday (July 27, 2026) the CJP warned of fresh protests, accusing the Centre of violating its assurance that no punitive action would be taken against protesters. Later in the evening, the CJP said that West Bengal, Assam and Bihar had announced to withdraw FIRs.
