West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari is the second least wealthy among the country’s Chief Ministers, with declared assets of ₹85.87 lakh, according to an analysis of election affidavits released by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and National Election Watch. The analysis, based on self-sworn election affidavits of 31 Chief Ministers of States and Union Territories, found that Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is the least wealthy, with declared assets of ₹55.24 lakh. Mr. Adhikari ranked second with assets worth ₹85.87 lakh, followed by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, whose declared assets exceed ₹1.03 crore. The report said four of the 31 Chief Ministers analysed, or 13%, have declared assets exceeding ₹100 crore. The ADR analysis also found that the average assets declared by the 31 Chief Ministers stand at ₹118.07 crore.
