It is understood Daniel Kinahan has lost his final appeal against his extradition from Dubai.
This means Kinahan is likely to face trial in Ireland.
The Dubliner, who is the alleged leader of the Kinahan Cartel, had been fighting an extradition order.
If he is sent home, he'll likely be brought by the government jet, flanked on board by armed gardaí.
If charged, he'll face trial at the Special Criminal Court, and it is understood that he will be housed in Ireland's maximum security jail, Portlaoise Prison.
