One approach that has consistently proved valuable in my own teaching is computational thinking. Computational thinking provides a practical intellectual framework that enables students to move beyond information towards genuine understanding. Computational thinking provides a common language of inquiry because it is grounded in logic, structure and systematic problem-solving rather than disciplinary boundaries. Importantly, embracing computational thinking does not require every university to introduce new computer science programmes. Computational thinking offers an inclusive methodology that equips every student with practical tools to approach complexity, regardless of discipline or background.
