The Kerala Police have registerd a first information report against Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh member TG Mohandas for saying that he “would have shot” protesters in Delhi’s Jantar Mantar if he had been in charge of law and order, The Hindu reported on Wednesday. The RSS member said he would then make three announcements for the crowd to disperse. In another video, Mohandas was alleged to have said: “Police should be withdrawn from the area, and it should be left to the protesters. The RSS, the ideological parent of the Bharatiya Janata Party, distanced itself from Mohandas’ comments on Tuesday. Nevertheless, the remarks elicited sharp criticism in Kerala across political lines.
