A Victorian parliamentary committee investigating the harmful impact of cults accidentally sent the email addresses of anonymous survivors who made submissions to current members of such groups and to journalists. People belonging to groups accused of being cults during the inquiry were also included on the email, she said. The survivors included whistleblowers who trusted they would remain anonymous even as they spoke out about their experiences.
