Human rights activist and African Action Congress, AAC,
presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has challenged the Independent Corrupt
Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, to release the full
video of the reported interrogation of President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff,
Femi Gbajabiamila.
Sowore made the demand in a post shared on his official
social media page on Tuesday while reacting to reports that the anti-graft
agency had questioned Gbajabiamila.
According to him, making the complete, unedited recording of
the alleged interrogation public would be the only way to convince Nigerians
that the exercise was genuine.
“If the ICPC truly interrogated Tinubu’s Chief of Staff,
Femi Gbajabiamila, they should release the full, unedited video recording to
the public now,” Sowore wrote.
The activist dismissed the reported interrogation as what he
described as another attempt to divert public attention, insisting that
Nigerians would not be persuaded without full transparency from the
anti-corruption agency.
“All these gimmicks won’t work. We know this is just another
smokescreen,” he added.
The ICPC has not publicly responded to Sowore’s demand at
the time of filing this report.
