Security forces on Sunday foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir’s Keran sector, killing at least two terrorists, officials said. Troops observed suspicious movement near the frontier and challenged the infiltrators, triggering a brief exchange of fire, the officials said. So far this month, four terrorists and three soldiers have been killed in four separate encounters across Jammu and Kashmir. Security forces have intensified patrols and search operations in border areas to intercept them. “Militants try to cross in these two months, knowing they will have fewer chances for the next six,” he said, adding that the vigilance of security forces makes infiltration difficult.
