Tirumala experienced a surge of devotion on Sunday as more than two lakh pilgrims from across the country descended on the temple town to witness the auspicious ‘Garuda Seva’, the spiritual pinnacle of the ongoing annual Brahmotsavams. The massive open-top galleries lining the procession route, capable of accommodating about 1.75 lakh devotees, were filled to capacity by noon, subjecting the authorities to anxious moments. The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), the Police, the Vigilance and Security teams, and the district administration worked in tandem to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for the teeming pilgrims. TTD Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal and District SP L. Subbarayudu personally supervised the arrangements, monitoring every detail to avoid congestion. Vehicular movement in Tirumala was permitted until afternoon, after which it was diverted to the outer ring road to facilitate easy movement of the devotees.
