The police have arrested a 50-year-old physical education teacher of a government school at Kottur near Anamalai in Coimbatore district for alleged sexual assault on one of his students, a minor girl. The police said that the man from Tenkasi had joined the school a month ago, after being transferred from another school. According to the police, the alleged sexual assault took place on September 24. A team from the All Women Police Station, Valparai, arrested the teacher. He was produced before a court and sent to judicial remand on Saturday.
