RIVER designs mobile app to strengthen rabies surveillance

The Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Veterinary Education and Research (RIVER) launched a mobile app to strengthen rabies surveillance and reporting at an event held in connection with World Rabies Day.
The ‘Rabi-Track RIVER App’ was developed by RIVER in collaboration with the Atal Incubation Centre, Puducherry Technological University.
Ajay Kumar and M. Nithya Quintoil, Assistant Professor of Department of Veterinary Public Health and Epidemiology.
Technical sessions led by experts held subsequently covered a wide range of topics including rabies immunization, animal reservoirs, diagnostic techniques, and the objectives of the National Rabies Control Programme (NRCP).
The observance was organised with funding support of the National Rabies Control Programme and the Puducherry State Health Mission.
