Couple gets 34-year jail term for newborn's murder in Taxila

PHOTO: anheimblogAdditional District and Sessions Judge Taxila Farhan Mudassir has announced the verdict in the brutal murder case of a newborn baby girl, sentencing the convicted couple to a combined 34 years in prison along with fines totalling Rs80,000.
Following sentencing, the convicts were shifted to Adiala Jail.
Convict Kaleem Iqbal was sentenced to 25 years' imprisonment and Rs0.5 compensation for murder.
Mudassir was sentenced to five years' imprisonment and Rs0.2 million fine for attempted murder, along with Rs0.3 million compensation for causing injury.
Farrukh was sentenced to five years' imprisonment and Rs0.2m fine for attempted murder, five years' imprisonment for causing injury, and ordered to pay Rs3.276m in diyat.
