The Delhi High Court on Thursday (January 29, 2026) said there was no stay on the proceedings in the sexual harassment case filed by women wrestlers against former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP and former president of the Wrestling Federation of India, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. The case stems from an FIR lodged by the Delhi Police on a complaint filed by six women wrestlers who levelled allegations of sexual harassment against Mr. Singh. After a weeks-long investigation, the police filed a chargesheet against Mr. Singh in 2023, accusing him of outraging modesty, making sexually coloured remarks, stalking, and criminal intimidation. On January 29, Mr. Singh sought an adjournment in the hearing, citing the unavailability of a senior lawyer. Clarifying that there was no stay on the proceedings, the Bench adjourned the case to April 21.
