The Principal District and Sessions Court in Tiruchi on Thursday convicted and sentenced three history sheeters to undergo life imprisonment for murdering a college student in Srirangam in August 2024. The court imposed ₹1,000 each as fine on the accused P. Vijay, 25, M. Suresh, 27, and R. Navinkumar, 25. The three accused allegedly attacked the student with logs killing him on the spot. A chargesheet was filed against Vijay, Suresh, and Navinkumar at the Principal District and Sessions Court which sentenced each one of them to undergo life imprisonment. The chargesheet was filed at the Juvenile Justice Board against the three juveniles and the inquiry was on, a police press release said.
