Minister for Public Works and Tourism P.A. Mohamed Riyas has announced a ₹206-crore investment to upgrade nine key roads in Kozhikode district to national highway standards. Funded through the Central Road Infrastructure Fund (CRIF), the project targets critical routes in constituencies including Kunnamangalam, Thiruvambady, and Beypore. This local initiative is part of a broader State-wide infrastructure overhaul, with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways approving a total of ₹988.75 crore for 39 roads across Kerala. Mr. Riyas said these upgrades, based on proposals submitted by the Public Works department, were designed to modernise the regional network and provide high-quality transit corridors.
