The budget allocation for sports has been enhanced in the State budget presented by Kerala Finance Minister B. Balagopal here on Thursday. The State Government has earmarked nearly ₹240 crore for sports and infrastructure development in the State. The plan allocation for Sports and Youth affairs has been pegged at ₹ 220.86 crore which saw an increase of 51.90% from last year. The ‘one panchayat one playground’ scheme gets an additional share of ₹28 crore in the budget. An amount of ₹6.5 crore has been allotted for conducting Keralostavam under Kerala State Youth Welfare Board.
