AIG Hospitals on Wednesday announced the introduction of PYtest, a non-invasive diagnostic test for detecting active Helicobacter pylori infections. Despite its high prevalence, diagnosis has largely depended on invasive endoscopy-based procedures, often resulting in delayed or missed detection. Announcing the launch, Dr. D. Nageshwar Reddy, Chairman, AIG Hospitals, said the new test would significantly improve patient comfort and encourage early screening. “The test eliminates the fear and hesitation associated with invasive procedures and brings us one step closer to early detection and prevention of serious gastric diseases,” he said. To implement the testing facility, AIG Hospitals has constituted a dedicated clinical team of gastroenterologists comprising Dr. Aniruddha Pratap Singh, Dr. Krithi Krishna and Dr. Rakesh Garlapati, under the supervision of Dr. Rakesh Kalapala.
