Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Palakkad zonal general secretary K.K. Surendran described the State Budget as the CPI(M)’s election manifesto presented in the Assembly. The BJP leader described the Budget as a set of false and unimplementable promises of a caretaker government that lost the people’s mandate in the recent local body elections. The failure to increase the welfare pension by even a single rupee is a sign of the collapse of the State’s economy. “It is because of the Centre’s help that the State’s treasury is working.
