In line with its stated commitment to the development of Sabarimala, the State Budget has set aside ₹30 crore for activities related to the Sabarimala Master Plan.
According to the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB), the allocation is expected to give a major boost to the core area development plan for Nilackal, the main gateway to the Sabarimala hill shrine.
A detailed plan will be finalised after discussions with the High Power Committee on the Sabarimala Master Plan,” said K. Jayakumar, President of the Travancore Devaswom Board.
Earlier last year, the State Cabinet unveiled a comprehensive plan for the development of Sabarimala by dividing the pilgrimage zone into eight distinct zones.
In addition, ₹15 crore has been set aside for the development of pilgrimage roads in Pathanamthitta district.
