Prof. Tushar Jana of UoH elected Fellow of Indian Academy of Sciences

University of Hyderabad (UoH) senior professor in the School of Chemistry, Tushar Jana, has been elected as a Fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences (IAS), Bengaluru, for the year 2026, in recognition of his outstanding and sustained contributions to the fields of polymer chemistry and materials science.
A post-graduate in chemistry from the University of Calcutta, he did his Ph.D. at the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS), Kolkata, post-doctoral research from the University of Pittsburgh and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), USA, and joined the UoH in 2005.
Prof. Jana’s research group has developed several advanced polymeric materials with applications in fuel cells, water electrolyzers, sensors, drug delivery, protein binding, energetic polymers, coatings, and environmentally benign materials.
His group has also been actively engaged in translating research outcomes into commercial technologies through collaborations with industry partners, said a press release.
